Mountainville Manor Wedding

The first time I met Mike and Tim was on a bitterly cold day for their engagement session. We were by the Hudson River by Upper Landing Park in Poughkeepsie— which made it feel like -15 degrees. I was bundled in layers, and Mike and Tim had no coats on. I blurted out— Where are your coats?!! They laughed and admitted they weren’t ones for coats.

The cold didn’t bother them, they were just so happy to be with one another. It was a genuine connection, nothing forced; they were so happy to be doing their engagement session.

On the day of their wedding, it was more of the same. Mike and Tim opted for a relaxed, no-first-look, nor a traditional wait to see each other till the ceremony.

Mountainville Manor offers two getting-ready rooms, and normally, the couple would stay in their separate spaces, waiting for their first look or ceremony. Instead, they kept the doors open and had everyone get ready together. This is something I’ve been seeing more with couples, and it’s quite beautiful to be able to document the little interactions, hugs, and everything that connects them. It was important for Mike and Tim to be surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Mountainville Manor is the wedding venue where Mike and Tim chose to share their vows and celebrate their wedding day. Mountainville Manor, a newly renovated 19th-century Victorian estate, offers an outdoor area for ceremonies. The weather was perfect! 2023 was the year for rain, but Mike and Tim lucked out.
